The digital transformation of the water sector is accelerating, with increasing demand for innovative solutions in modelling, data, and digital twins. To support this momentum, we are looking for a water-passioned account manager that wants to help solving the big issues in our water industry using the power of modern digital tools.


AM-Team is a digital changemaker that provides leading modelling and data services and digital twin solutions that tackle water industry’s biggest issues. We help water utilities, industrial end users, engineering and consultancy firms and (digital) technology vendors throughout the various stages of technology development, planning, design and operation. The big issues we focus on are climate change adaptation and mitigation, meeting regulatory demands, maximisation and future-proofing of treatment assets, overcoming workforce bottlenecks and obtaining actionable digitalisation at the treatment side. Our unique ‘model-fit-for-purpose’ approach allows us to smartly  combine  different  modelling  solutions  including  mechanistic  (such  as  dynamic  and computational  fluid  dynamics  models),  data-driven  (such  as  statistic  models  and  machine learning) and hybrid approaches.

We’re looking for a water-passioned  person  that  loves  combining  commercial  thinking  with technical insight. This  role focuses on  matching  our solutions with the challenges  of  our customers and on detecting emerging market needs. While you will be involved in major deals at  the  global  scale,  a  core  focus  area  of  this  function  will  be  the  Netherlands.  You  will  be working  in  the  sales  team  and  will  be  an  important  bridge  between  the  water  market  and  our marketing and technical teams.

Responsibilities

  • Sales  and  solution  engineering:  client  visits  and  meetings,  solution  definition,  proposal engineering  and  writing,  pricing,  sales  funnel  management  (in  close  collaboration  with solution engineering team)
  • Account management: build key relationships with customers and develop new opportunities with international customers, but with strong focus on the Netherlands
  • Lead generation & qualification: lead generation, new client engagement and participation at international and local events
  • Marketing input: co-develop marketing strategies and materials (eg webinars, whitepapers, customer cases, ...)
  • Sales plan development: regular review targets and actions in collaboration with commercial team

Job requirements

Our new colleague:

  • Has direct water industry customer and experience and has worked with water utilities in a technical/commercial context (min. 3 years of experience)
  • Combines  customer-centric  thinking  with  technical  understanding  of  the  treatment  side (water/wastewater)
  • Can translate customer needs into technical solutions and proposals
  • Is willing to be based in Belgium (Ghent) or the Netherlands
  • Has an MSc in (environmental or relevant) engineering
  • Has excellent communication skills and can explain complex things in a simple manner
  • Is fluent in English & Dutch both written and orally - knowledge of another language is a plus
